Equipment check-out

Equipment check-out and photos will be Tuesday, January 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the commons area. All wrestlers are welcome to come at the starting time so that we can get everyone into their gear and have pictures taken. If your wrestler still has gear from last year, please bring it – we cannot check out new gear until the old is turned in. If your son/daughter is no longer wrestling and you still have gear please reply to this email and we will arrange to collect the equipment.  We would appreciate this being done sooner rather than later so that we can be sure to have enough gear for this year’s wrestlers.

Practice Schedule
All practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the wrestling room at the high school. Practices begin January 8th.

5:30-6:30 p.m. – PreK-2nd grade
6:30-8:00 p.m. – 3rd-grade-Jr. High

 

Upcoming dates to add to your calendar

  • First full practice will be Thursday, January 10 – 5:30-6:30 p.m. for K-2nd graders and 6:30-8:00 p.m. for 3rd-8th graders.
  • Husker Tumble & Rumble is Saturday, January 12, at 7:00 p.m. We will plan to attend as a club for anyone who wants to go. Wrestlers get in free. An RSVP request will be sent out in early January.
  • Our first club tournament will be at Waverly on January 6th.
  • Raymond Central Youth Tourney is Saturday, February 23. All families are expected to work at least one shift.

 

Tournament planning

Following the team photo on January 8, we will also have a brief tournament planning meeting for all parents interested in helping with the tournament planning committee.

Concessions

We are also looking for volunteers to help with concessions during the high school wrestling season. Working concessions is the only fundraising we do to cover costs of running the club and to keep our club fees low. A sign-up will be sent out shortly after registration night, but please keep these dates in mind so you can sign up for a shift:

Thursday, January 10                    5:30-8:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 26                     8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, February 12                    4:00-9:00 p.m.

Tuesday, February 19                    4:00-9:00 p.m.

Tuesday, March 5                          3:30-9:00 p.m.

Weather Information

We follow the Raymond Central school calendar. School closings due to weather will mean that there is no practice. There will also not be practice if school has an early out due to inclement weather. If the weather turns after school and before practice please check your email before going to practice. Also, we all have different levels of comfort traveling in the snow; please use caution and your best judgement about attending when road conditions could be dangerous.
